When I wasn’t watching The Sound of Music, I was watching Cinderella. As a little girl her story was always my favorite, I have always been inspired and motivated by her kindness and always loved the story of how kind and gracious Cinderella was to her cruel step mother and step sisters — such a great example! And with the remake of the live action movie with Lily James and Richard Madden — my life was complete!ha! Everything about the movie inspires me! From the graceful Lily James to beautiful horses running through meadows and the flowers, costumes and sets and — especially the chemistry and everything in between!
I mean.. this horse?? Lily James?? the wildflowers??
So, naturally, when I came across these incredible promotional photos with Lily James and Richard Madden back when the movie first came out in 2015, I knew these would be my inspiration for my engagement pictures one day (along with the intimacy of the gazebo scene and everything else that I loved). So, when I conceptualizing our engagement photoshoot with the photographer, I knew I wanted our pictures to really express and represent Jared and I as a couple in a unique way while still feeling timeless.
I wanted to create and direct the look and feel of every detail. I had a vision of a dreamy photoshoot in the back of a really cool classic car — creating a vintage vibe. I loved the idea of snuggling and laughing in the backseat of a cool car! ha!
Im so glad we were able to borrow a fully restored 1965 Ford Mustang from a friend that we drove up a beautiful canyon to meet our photographer in a beautiful meadow — and Jared even brought his guitar to play! ahhh! So dreamy…!
