I had more fun that I thought I would designing the logo for our wedding. I wanted to create something that felt special and also our style, and I learned that creating something simple can sometimes be a lot harder than I thought! ha! But still so fun!
I loved the idea of a hand-lettered font that felt airy and whimsical. I also wanted some type of logo/mark that we could use in all of our events — I wanted everything to be branded to add to the cohesiveness of the entire wedding experience. Being an Experience Design major in the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University, I am so passionate about creating memorable experiences for people! I love it so much and, of course, couldn’t resist doing everything I could to make our wedding so special for all of our guests.
I’ve mentioned before that Jared’s sister is a graphic designer and she did all our graphic design for our wedding. She is amazing! She was so helpful in creating our final logo — and I still love it so much! So many details make it so perfect. I love the leaf crest that opens near the top so that it still feels airy and whimsical. The M & J took us a little bit to find just the right capitol letters that fit together perfectly!
I was also so inspired by the vintage wax seal concept, and once we finalized our logo, we had a brass custom stamp made for us to use on all of our invitations. I opted for gold colored hot glue we ordered from Amazon instead of real wax, which was really cool to use! The sticks of hot glue that came out gold! It was so fun figuring out how to get just the right amount of glue on each — the whole process is a little trickier than it looks, but sooo worth it!
